Early in 2019, Gateway Baptist Church has an opportunity to send a Mission's Team to Ecuador. Ecuador is located on the west coast of South America, and named after the equator that runs through it. The capital city Quito (where Pan de Vida is located), is situated at 9,000 feet above sea level and is a UNESCO world heritage site. Ecuador is a country of much diversity and is famous for its exportation of roses, bananas and cocoa. Within the population of Quito, a wide disparity can be found between the rich and the poor, and in recent years, high unemployment rates have affected the city.
- On this trip, you’d be serving with Samaritan’s Purse, and Pan de Vida in a variety of different ways to support the various programs that they have to improve the quality of life for people living in extreme poverty, and to equip them with spiritual and physical resources.
- You would be involved with running a Vacation Bible School for children in the area, assisting with home improvement projects, and helping with the feeding program.
If you are interested in learning and hearing more about this opportunity, there will be a 30 minute meeting after the 11am service on June 24th.
